The modest ruins of a rock castle near Valdštejn Castle in the Český ráj. There are several small rooms carved in the rock for tired wanderers seeking the exemplary beauty of the sandstone rocks without the deafening cries of the excursionists.

You can get water during opening hours at the nearby Valdštejn Castle or in the buffet in front of the castle.

Probably at any time, unless one of the thousands of buses with visitors to Hruboskalsko wants to explore Kavčina (which normally doesn't happen).

You can easily find the hut: in the direction from Valdštejn to Hruba Skala you will come to the crossroads of tourist signs "U Kavčin" after a short while. There is a long rocky promontory to the right (if you go from Valdštejn). Just walk along its ridge and at the end you will easily find the remains of the castle :-).
